This webinar provides participants with guidance on the Verification Process of the School Nutrition Program. Verification is the confirmation of eligibility for free or reduced‐price meals determined through applications. It is an annual USDA requirement and involves selecting a 3% sample from all current year approved applications. Households in the sample size are notified that further income or assistance program documentation is required to confirm the information provided on the application. Participants will leave this training with confidence to conduct verification compliantly while gaining skills to effectively help families respond, keep students on meal benefits and help streamline organizational processes.
