Intended Audience: Classroom teachers, administrators
Description: Terry Scott says the key to effective classroom management starts with instruction. His book provides participants with strategies that draw from current evidence-based practices and real-world examples to get to the heart of effective teaching. Participants will gain insight on why instruction is the foundation for all student behavior and will be provided with practical tools for managing all types of student behaviors.
All educators are welcome to participate in the book study and we encourage you to pass this information on to your colleagues. PBIS schools still receiving grant dollars may use that money to pay for the cost of the book.
 
The class is set up for asynchronous learning, via VoiceThread, a platform for online learning.
VoiceThread is free and we will send out guidance so you can set up your account.
1 graduate credit through USF will be available.
 
Thirteen chapters are broken up over four weeks. In addition, there will be reflections and short assignments. The course begins October 16 and ends November 10. All work must be completed and turned in by November 20.
