Who Should Attend? This event is geared for principals and school counselors.
Description: Strong student outcomes depend on strong collaboration. Within every school district lies a built-in "Dream Team" that consists of school counselors and principals who possess the perfect combination of skills, talents, strengths, perspectives, and roles that seamlessly complement one another and are uniquely designed to achieve desire outcomes. When this partnership is intentional and aligned, it creates the conditions for lasting impact.
This workshop will focus on practical tools and strategies to strengthen collaboration by clarifying roles, aligning school counselor and principal efforts to district and site priorities, and establishing systems for ongoing communication. Participants will gain approaches for having courageous, student-centered conversations, learn how to articulate their contributions to the team, and explore ways to advocate for more effective collaboration. Walk away with actionable tools to transform the school counselor/principal relationship into a true Dream Team that works together to win for student success.
Objectives:
- Articulate shared responsibilities and priorities between school counselors and administrators.
- Identify the benefits of implementing a comprehensive school counseling program by utilizing a Multi-Tiered, Multi-Domain System of Support (MTMDSS) that is designed to impact student outcomes.
- Utilize tools and resources to maximize the principal/school counselor relationship and begin working together more collectively.
# of Continuing Education Contact Hours: 3 for webinar attendance and completion of a short survey within a limited timeframe.
