Full course description
This workshop equips South Dakota educators with evidence-based strategies to effectively teach literacy to English Learners (ELs), with a focus on the intersection of language acquisition, cultural responsiveness, and the science of reading. Participants will explore how students’ home languages influence English literacy development, how to implement structured, systematic literacy instruction for ELs, and how to support students as they navigate both academic language and cultural adaptation.
