Full course description

Just like a strong building needs a solid foundation, young writers need the right tools and strategies to develop their skills with confidence. In this course, we’ll explore research-backed methods to help your K-5 students become skilled, enthusiastic writers—using Joan Sedita’s Writing Rope as our blueprint. Together, we’ll dive into the writing process, genre-specific techniques, and ways to nurture creativity while providing the explicit instruction that makes great writing possible. Whether you’re helping students organize their ideas, craft compelling arguments, or express their imaginations, this course will equip you with practical, classroom-ready strategies. Let’s build a strong framework for writing success—one lesson at a time!

All pariticipants will be issued 45 CECH upon successful completion of the course.

Participants may choose to obtain 3 Graduate Credits upon successful completion of the course.

Information regarding CECH and Graduate Credit may be found within the course on the Continuing Education Contact Hours / Graduate Credit page.
