Full course description
This course is structured into 6 modules. We will be using Jimmy Casas' book Culturize. The Book Culturize provides ideas and tools on how educators can positively impact their school culture and climate and shares insights into what it takes to cultivate a community of learners who embody the innately human traits our world desperately needs, such as kindness, honesty, and compassion. Building a positive school climate and classroom environment is about building effective relationships. As you navigate through the course, you'll find a variety of learning materials, readings, School Culture and School Climate Surveys, group discussions, weekly assignments and resources. Each person who is enrolled will receive Jimmy Casas's book Culturize for their own personal resource. The four core principles covered in Casa’s book are Champion for Students, Expect Excellence, Carry the Banner, and Merchant of Hope.

All work must be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m. on November 22, 2024.
Culturize, by Jimmy Casas is the text used for the course. Each enrolled student may request a copy of Culturize to keep for their own personal library. Students will request the book via email to the course instructor. CECH will be available for those completing the course.
