The South Dakota English Language Proficiency Assessment is ACCESS for ELs 2.0 (Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Learners). ACCESS for ELs is taken annually by identified English learners to measure their English proficiency. The Department of Education will offer one-hour training on several topics related to what schools need to do to prepare for this year’s ACCESS assessment focusing on Kindergarten, Paper and  Alternate ACCESS test, which will be administered Jan. 23-Feb. 23, 2024.
