Full course description
Whether you are new to the teaching profession or have been teaching for years, you know that there is always something more you can do to improve your classroom management and student outcomes. If you want strategies to increase student engagement, better manage disruptive students, promote positive behaviors, increase student achievement, and improve student relationships, this book study is for you.
Terry Scott says the key to effective classroom management starts with instruction. His book provides participants with strategies that draw from current evidence-based practices and real-world examples to get to the heart of effective teaching. Participants will gain insight on why instruction is the foundation for all student behavior and will be provided with practical tools for managing all types of student behaviors.
Thirteen chapters are broken up over four weeks. In addition, there will be reflections and short assignments.
The course:
- Begin October 6, 2024, and ends November 17, 2024
- All work must be completed and turned in by November 17
- Participants are responsible for ordering their own book
- Instructions will be emailed to all participants on October 3
